Description:
The secret to Doc Fizzix's world record setting mousetrap distance racer that traveled over 182 meters was it's unique pulley system. This is the same pulley set-up that was used on Doc Fizzix's world record setting mousetrap distance car. This unique pulley system is designed to maximize the transfer of potential energy into a 400% greater pulling distance than conventional propulsion systems. The High-Tech Pulley Set-up is designed to maximize the gearing of any long-distance racer over the greatest possible linear distance. This set-up includes a light-weight, low inertia, drive pulley along with everything else you would need to make your own pulley racer.Features:
- maximizes gearing for distance
- pulley propulsion system
- low inertia design
Application:
The high-tech pulley system is designed to replace the conventional direct drive system with a combination of belt driven gears. A large light-weight plastic drive gear is attached to a smaller drive axle with a ultra thin cassette tape ribbon. The ratio of the drive gear to the drive axle is such that for every turn of the large drive gear the vehicle travels 10 meters linear distance. Because of the gear ratio of this vehicle, the Ultimate Pulley Racer requires almost 10 meters of cassette ribbon to be pulled from the drive axle through its 200 meter journey. This kit requires more work and testing than other kits so it should only be built by those that have experience building and testing mousetrap cars.Includes the following:
- 1x large drive pulley
- 2x cassette ribbon supports
- 1x hex nut
- 2x 6-inch axles
- 8x CD/DVD spacers
- 4x thrust washers
- kevlar string
- axle hook
- Doc Fizzix's easy-wind, snag-free propulsion system
- Step-by-step plans with performance tips and tricks
Tools required:
- Super glue
Special Note:
- The builder must supply a cassette tape
Weight : 1.0 oz.
*Kits require assembly, actual results will vary, glue and tools not included.
